A Little Spiritual Heart Surgery

"Search me, O God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

Point out anything in me that offends YOU,

and lead me along the path of everlasting life."

Psalm 140-23-24

God knows our hearts. He knows our every secret thought, everything we've ever said, everything we've ever done. He knows our sins as well. He knows the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some of us can be pretty ugly at times, can't we? The thought that God knows everything about can be disconcerting. The very idea that He knows our hearts could even be eternally fatal for us.

But you know what? Even though He has all of this 'dirt' on us, HE STILL LOVES US! He even loved us while we were yet sinners - so much so that HE sent HIS PERFECT SON to DIE for OUR SINS! And through JESUS CHRIST, we can find forgiveness for our sins. WE can confess EVERYTHING to Him - all of our sins, all of our worries, all of our pains. I know that HE will be faithful and just to forgive.

Ask God daily to search every corner of your heart, revealing any sin that you need to take to Him in prayer. Pray for forgiveness and help in overcoming that sin. Be ready for Him to perform a little spiritual heart surgery on ANY SIN that hinders your walk in Christ. Give yourself wholeheartedly to Jesus Christ as LORD and SAVIOR. He wants to lead you down the path of everlasting life!
