Sing a New Song!

Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre;
make music for him on the ten-stringed harp.
Sing a new song of praise to him;
play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.
For the word of the Lord holds true,
and we can trust everything he does.
Psalm 33:2-4

Ever have those times in your life where nothing seems to be going your way? Those times have a way of bringing us down. It is during these tough times that overwhelming feelings of despair paralyze our faith. But we don't have to give in to feelings of hopelessness and despair. Instead, ask God to place a new song in your heart. Sing praises of thanksgiving to the One who can move the mountains in your life. Doing so helps us take the focus off of our problems and places our attention upward toward where it belongs. Our enemy delights when we allow problems to distract us from our relationship with God!

He has given me a new song to sing,a hymn of praise to our God.Many will see what he has done and be amazed.They will put their trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3

By trusting God in both the best and worst of times we accomplish two things. First, this places us in the best position possible in any problem we face. In the worst of storms, we can find solid, safe ground by trusting God. Secondly, by placing our trust in God, others will see His greatness in the midst of the storm and be amazed!

They will come home and sing songs of joy on the heights of Jerusalem.They will be radiant because of the Lord’s good gifts—the abundant crops of grain, new wine, and olive oil,and the healthy flocks and herds.Their life will be like a watered garden,and all their sorrows will be gone. Jeremiah 31:12

God can put a new song of joy in your heart! Don't let the problems of this world steal your hope and leave you in despair. Sing that new song today! Sing of His excellent greatness! Sing of our wonderful Savior who gives life! He loves to hear you sing!

And they sang a new song with these words:
“You are worthy to take the scroll

and break its seals and open it.

For you were slaughtered,
and your blood has ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
And you have caused them to become
a Kingdom of priests for our God.
And they will reign on the earth.”
Revelation 5:8-10

In His Love, Cathy
