Pleading for Salvation?

Salvation is a free gift. We need only ask and believe. However, so often we feel that we are so laden with sin that we must do something to even be worthy of salvation. We feel that we must clean up ourselves first before we can ask for salvation, that we are not 'good enough' the way we are. We avoid church, we avoid our Christian family and friends. We avoid that small voice inside our heads that keeps pleading 'This is the way, follow it!" We're so ashamed of what we've done or we're too scared to set foot in a church, feeling as though we don't belong. But don't be intimidated! Churches are just filled with forgiven people, not perfect people!

Friends, it doesn't matter who you are or what you have done, just come to Christ just as you are. He'll take care of the rest! There is NOTHING we can do to earn the free gift of salvation. So quit beating yourself up and just ask. It's just that simple. Please go to the link below and read 'Pleading for Salvation' by Luann Prater. Whether you are a believer, a seeker, or just checking out this 'Jesus thing', her article applies. Luann reminds us that ALL of us were once prodigal sons and daughters, in need of a Savior. We must be sensitive to others who are hurting and seeking Him as well. Pray for those who don't know Christ. Pray for God to show you how to respond in love to them.
