Rock Solid: What Your Child Learned in Church Today (Feb 22)

TODAY'S ELEMENTARY LESSON (KG through 4th grades)
Unit: To the Depths: An In-Depth Study of James
(Posting a day early due to special Sunday lunch with our extended family)

Bible Lesson: Today's lesson was was the Salvation Story (James 1:12, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.)

Main Point: I Can Look Forward to Heaven Because Jesus Forgives Me!

Memory Verse: "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Bible Readings at Home: Please read through the Book of James with your child through the months of January and February. James is so rich with messages from God on how to live the Christian Life.

Today we learned the ABC's of becoming a Christian.

A - Admit that you are a sinner and ask God to forgive you of your sin.

B - Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He was without sin, that He died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day.

C - Choose to follow Jesus Christ, asking Him to come into your life and Lord and Savior.

Children were given a decision card and asked to share their response to the message of salvation with their parents. Please talk with your child about their response to the message of salvation. If you would like for me to talk with your child about salvation, please call the church office (located at the bottom of the decision card). I'll be happy to help!

TRAINING UP A CHILD HOMEWORK:
1. Help your child memorize John 3:16 and be able to recite it to me next Sunday.
2. Keep reading through the Book of James with your child for the months of January and February.

Grace and Peace!
In His Love, Cathy
