Rock Solid! What Your Child Learned in Church Today (Feb 1)

ATTENTION: Parents & Volunteers - Meeting This Wednesday Night at 6:30 p.m. Dinner at 6:00 p.m.

TODAY'S PRE-K LESSON - Unit: Yippee Ti Yi Yo - Jesus can do anything!
Bible Lesson: Jesus Heals the Centurion's Servant (Matthew 8:5-13)
Main Point: Jesus can do anything! I can ask Him for help!
Bible Verse: "Pray about everything. Tell God what you need..." Philippians 4:6

TODAY'S ELEMENTARY LESSON (KG through 4th grades)
Unit: To the Depths: An In-Depth Study of James

Bible Lesson: Today's lesson was on listening to and doing what the Bible says - King Josiah and Book of God's Law (2 Kings 22 & 23)

Main Point: I will listen and do what the Bible says!

Memory Verse: "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." 2 Timothy 3:16

Bible Readings at Home: Please read through the Book of James with your child through the months of January and February. James is so rich with messages from God on how to live the Christian Life.

Children learned that to have the best life possible, we must read the Bible and then DO what it says. The Bible is God's Word. God gave it to us so that we will know what He wants us to do. In the Bible, God gives us instructions and rules to live by. It also tells us how we should treat other people. But this is only the tip of the iceburg. The Bible is so full of God's wisdom and it also tells us about God's character. The Bible is still relevant for us today.

TRAINING UP A CHILD HOMEWORK:
1. Help your child memorize 2 Timothy 3:16 and be able to recite it to me next Sunday.
2. Keep reading through the Book of James with your child for the months of January and February.

In His Love, Cathy
