Building Our Lives on God's Word

"Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior. This kind of talk spreads like cancer, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus. They have left the path of truth, claiming that the resurrection of the dead has already occurred; in this way, they have turned some people away from the faith.
But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”
2 Timothy 2:15-19

To build our lives on God's Word we first of all MUST know what God's Word says. There is absolutely no substitute for our own personal study of the Bible. For this is the foundation that we build our lives upon. We can not serve Him if His Truth isn't ingrained in our hearts. If we are to be the workers He has called us to be, then we must start by building our lives upon His Word. We must also build His Word into our lives. It is not enough just to read the Bible, we should apply it's truth to our lives ! We should read EVERY PART of the Bible, cover to cover, not just our favorite books or passages. It is ALL God's inspired word, each and every bit of it was intended for us. Reading the Bible is VITAL our walk in Christ. It tells us how to live for Him and how to serve him.

Consistent and daily Bible study is critical . To do otherwise leads to neglecting God and our true purpose for living! Want a changed life? Then make time to diligently study the Word of God. Make a commitment to read the Bible to CHANGE!

In His Love, Cathy
