Starting The Day Off Right

"O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. 2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you. 3 Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly." Psalm 5:1-3

Morning prayer. It's the best and most important thing we can do in our day. There was a time that I didn't think morning prayer or a morning quiet time was essential in my walk. I had quiet times, but they were in the afternoons after I got home from work. With 3 children, a husband, and a full time job, I thought I was doing good just to have a quiet time. However, God showed me that thought this was good, He had a better plan. He showed me the importance of morning prayer and quiet time. He helped me understand that best thing I could do for others and myself was to recognize Him, the author of my life, first thing in the morning. Morning prayer, Bible readings, worship, and meditation is how He grounds me for the day. Through this morning spiritual feast HE shores up my armor, preparing me for the spiritual battles that lie ahead. It is in these still morning hours that He has my FULL ATTENTION, for He knows that the day will try to sway my focus and obscure my view of Him. He knows that the strength I need to face the day's problems are found in the quiet moments of the morning light. Just Him and me, alone, together.

In the softness of the morning the Father listens intently to His daughter, as she lays her heart out before Him. It is where the daughter expectantly hangs on to every word of her loving Father, hiding His precious words in her heart. The morning is where I meet my Lord and Savior and where He also meets with me.

In His Love, Cathy

Amen Sister...could not say it better. It's the best part of waking up!! Remember that old Folgers coffee jingle...I sing this sometimes (so my kids "get it") The best part of waking up is Jesus in our heart!! The girls are raring to go for VBS, girl...they love those tunes and have been singin' away. Can't wait to see your new doo...you better not look any younger, they are going to think you are one of the students at PHS!!
Blessings
