Be Still and Know

"Be still and know that I am God!..." Psalm 46:10

It is often in quiet times that God speaks to us. In order for Him to do so, we need to slow down and listen. Our quiet times should be just that, quiet times. It is time for us to be silent for once and wait on God. Listen to what He is saying. Read and meditate on His Word. Our prayers should not be just us doing to the talking, but us also listening. A two-way conversation with our loving Father, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts. We must let go and allow Him to move us - watching throughout each day for opportunities to respond to Him, serve Him, and share His love with others. Watching, waiting, listening.

Once we are still, we are to know that He is God. Recognize His glory. Reflect on His excellent greatness. Study His Word. Honor Him, His power, and His majesty. Adore and exalt Him. Focus on Him. Think of Him throughout the day. Pray often. Devote yourself to living for Him.

The enemy doesn't want us to respond to God in this way. He uses anything to stop us. His best tool is to keep us so busy that we can not be still and know God.

We can deepen our relationship with our Lord. But to do so, we must first be still and know that He is God!

In His Love, Cathy
