The Value of True Friends

"A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need." Proverbs 17:17

Words can not express how deeply appreciative I am for the outpouring of love, affection, support, prayers, and help that each of you, my friends, have so freely given our family! I have never felt such love and care before in my life. You have not only touched my heart with your kindness, generousity, and love, but also the hearts of my family - immediate and extended.

The food provided by Donna and the PCC Bereavement Ministry Team was SUCH A BLESSING!!! Because of your ministry, our extended family was able share a wonderful meal together for the first time in many years. We gathered in the childhood park that many of us played in growing up. It was here we enjoyed the food, enjoyed good fellowship, and reminesced about 'the good old days.' It was good for us to all be 'home' together. The flowers sent by our church were beautiful and deeply appreciated.

I am overwhelmed at the cards, notes, prayers, emails, hugs, and thoughts for my family, my mother, and I. How precious are each one of these to us. I am also so very thankful for Jodi, Sidney, Christy, & Lorraine who are 'holdin' down the fort this Sunday. Thank you guys for taking care of the children in my absence. I love you guys! I thank God for each of you. I've never had such wonderful friends before!

I was even more humbled and touched when Pastor Ronnie, Renae, Sidney, & Gene arrived at Granddaddy's funeral. This meant so much to me. I am forever grateful and so very thankful they came. Their coming all the way to Troy was a complete surprise and a wonderful blessing. Thank you for coming. It did my heart so much good to have you - my Christian family - there.

I also can not express how much of an impact that our church, the PCC family, had on my mother and family. EVERYTHING you did spoke volumes to them about the God we serve! My Mother was so very touched by the loved poured upon her and us. The PCC family really stepped up to the plate - not only helping a 'brother in need' but reaching out in love to total strangers in need. Thank you friends, for being a true witness to Christ's love to my family. You are my true friends! I pray that I can be a true friend to you as well.

In His Love, Cathy
