Granddaddy,

How can I express how much I admired and looked up to you?

You were a good, gentle man. A man of honor, integrity, and good character.

You were a man who greatly loved his family.

You worked so hard to make this world a better place for us.

You took such good care of us.

You enjoyed your grandchildren and loved to shower us with attention.

Maybe you even spoiled us a little in the process but we loved it!

I'll never forget your antics, tricks, and jokes.

"Where was Moses when the lights went out? In the dark!"

Yes, that was your favorite joke. We laughed no matter how often you told it.

We were just glad to be with you.

I loved playing checkers, high card, and go fish with you.

I loved lying in the bed with you and Grandma at night watching TV -

I felt so loved and accepted when I was with you.

You always looked out for others before yourself.

You encouraged us all to get a good education, to make something of ourselves.

You knew our problems even if we didn't tell you and then offered the wisest advice.

I could tell by the twinkle in your eye that you sometimes knew more than you let on.

No one fooled you nor pulled the wool over your eyes!

I loved our conversations and I loved just hanging out with you.

I have so many wonderful memories of you.

I always felt greatly loved by you and Grandma.

Thank you for making me feel so special.

Your home was my safe haven.

You loved us so much, and we returned that love.

You taught us the importance of family.

You set the example of what a good husband and father should be.

You set the standard for the kind of man I should marry - and I did.

I thank the Lord my God for blessing our family with you, Granddaddy!

You are so special to us.

I love you and always will!

I know that we will be together again one day.
